Work package 1: State of the Art Analysis

  • Recording the business and communication processes (at headquarters, on the ships, between headquarters and ship), giving special consideration to (alternative: with emphasis on) the problems of management over distance (headquarters in Bremen, fleet operating worldwide, international customers and partners)

Work package 2: Requirements

  • List of requirements – taking into account current and future legal specifications, International Safety Management, “ISO certification on board“
  • For the requirements management, the requirements management tool by Polarion is used.

Work package 3: SEMICS concept and process model

  • Concept of future business and communication processes, such as loading, discharging, bunkering, ship delivery
  • Development of a maritime SEMICS portal as central communication platform

Work package 4: Development of SEMICS portal

  • Development of an electronic communication portal to optimise workflows on board

Work package 5: Implementation concept and prototype implementation

  • Prototype implementation of SEMICS at headquarters and onboard the test vessels

Work package 6: Test and evaluation of project results

  • Test and evaluation of SEMICS portal with its modules on board the test vessel of the Beluga P-Series
  • Evaluation of software tools by evaluating the implementation concept
